I am 29 years old and have grown passionate about fitness and health! Overall, I have lost and kept off a little over 40 pounds, and I have about 20 or so more that I would like to take off. This last year has been tough and distracting in many ways, and I am back to work now! I am revisiting Traineo, because this site and the people here were instrumental in helping me lose my original 40 pounds so I am back! I regret that because of time constraints I won't be able to be AS active in the forums as I used to, but I will certainly try to stay in there and reconnect with old friend as well as make new ones.

My fitness goals remain the same as before as I haven't achieved them yet:
*GOAL 1 = 140 lbs

For the most part pretty good. I hurt my hip late last month so I have been off of running for about 3 weeks. However, I was finally able to get the scale going down, so that is the good news. I am hoping that I will be back to running within 2 weeks. I will have to see if I can still do the marathon I signed up for (October).

Great job riding your bike to work! Stay strong and keep in touch!

You betcha I will. So far the rocking is going fairly well, but the broken wrist prevents any kind of lifting for me. Ah well, just gotta ride it out hardcore.

Nice picture, by the way.

Hi and thanks for your reply. Having support and knowing there are other people here that have been through or going through what I am about to start makes things that little bit more achievable. Thanks again.

Thanks for your ideas encouragement...I really appreciate it! I actually made a fitness poster the other day it has been helpful! I actually have about 70lbs. to lose to get to my goal weight...I have just been trying to focus on small goals, but I realized I also need to keep my final goal in sight :) Let's definitely be motivators for each other! thanks again!

HI Jennie! I saw your before/after photo and I think that is amazing! I have struggled w/ my weight for many many years....and I find my biggest problem is being able to really see myself at my goal weight so I lose my motivation. How do you stay focused motivated? Do you mind if I ask how long it has taken you to lose the 40lbs. so far? I guess I just need a little inspiration :)

OK guys. Thank you so much for your encouragement! I appreciate it. I heven't been around Traineo much in the last couple months due to being extremely busy at work and we moved and I have just getting out of routine.

Anyway, I see a direct correlation from when I stopped being so involved to my stagnation in weight loss. I still have about 25 pounds more to lose and a 5K to be able to run, and I need to get back on track.

So, I reassessed my mini-goals, and I am back... essentially starting over like I did when I lost the first 40 pounds.

Wish me luck!

Welcome back..

Well done for sticking with things. Yet again I'm weak and I'm going to kind of blame my blameless beautiful daughter for slacking on my couch to 5k plan. Hopefully once we have found a food she can tolerate and will settle down on for a whole night I might get the energy to get back into it.

I will keep abreast of your progress. Keep up the good work!

Good luck in Miami! You're going to be fine! :)

And you haven't cheated, btw! When I started running with a heart monitor (3 months ago) I had to walk several times during my training until I got used to the new pace that it recommended me!
Jennie W
7th Feb '07 15:53:58
Well, I am off to Miami today for a week. This will be a good test of my "new lifestyle". I will be taken out of my normal routine, and not have the convenience and comforts of my gym and my kitchen. :-) I will check in when I get back.

Today's run was a bit rough. I had to slow down for 30 seconds in the middle of my second 3 minute interval. I feel like I cheated :-( but I just couldn't breathe. As soon as I caught my breath, I finished out the interval, and the rest of the run, but this is the first time I had to "cheat". I still can't see myself running for 5 minute intervals let alone 30, but I will just keep forging ahead with the program the best I can...

I'll talk to you all in a week!

Heya Jennie.

My running has collapsed in a heap of tiredness. Riannon has taken all my energy away waking up at all hours and the runs I have done have been so hard I would of been better off staying at home.

The weight is still dribbling off of me though, with all thoughts of food relegated to the back of my mind and baby feeds, and cuddles taking its place. I've been a bit naughty at times, but most of the time healthy and small portions and it is working well.

5.2kgs (11lbs) down since starting Tranieo anyway. Now to bite the bullet and run whether I'm tired or not and see what will happen.

Hope things are going well with you?

Neil

THE COOKIE BINGE

Ahhh yes.... today was a rough day. After dinner I decided to indulge in not 1, not 2, but 7 chocolate chip cookies at a hefty price of 120 calories each! Well, of course immediately afterwards I felt guilty. And, since I couldn't undo it, and I can't be bulimic, the only other option was to hit the gym to try and burn some of those 840 calories off. I was able to burn 650 calories before the gym closed tonight or 77% of my cookie consumption. So, that brought my "net" cookie consumption to 1.58 cookies. Well, that is better than 7, but I still am mad at my self for the slip up.

Well, tomorrow is a new day! I will make up for it.

How was week 2 for you?

Riannon Amy Pearce was born (after a few complications) at 07:42 on 18th of Jan 2007.

Mum and Daughter are both doing great and are back at home as of late afternoon on the 19th Jan.

We have had our first night with her at home, and she has been very good, but we are all going to need quite a few catnaps to feel anywhere near normal for the rest of the weekend.

As for my training. I missed my final week 2 run on Friday as I was recovering from being up for over 36 hrs and I slept right through the night and went back to the hospital. So come Monday morning I'm going to restart week 2 and get back into the swing of it.

Don't even get me started on Thanksgiving! The time between Halloween and Christmas is probably the most difficult - lots of holidays where the main goal is eating. I did pretty well with Halloween this year (although I did gain a pound - that means an extra hard workout for me!).

Here's hoping we can stay motivated to stay healthy through the holidays!
